Lisa Dye, Trainer

Lisa Dye is a Virginia born and raised equestrian and instructor. Lisa prides herself in all things family. She grew up riding at Hazelwild Farm in Fredericksburg VA. She trained under the same two instructors for over 12 years and is proud to call them mentors still today. During her riding as a junior she developed many top ponies and horses through the junior hunters and equitation. Lisa grew up with a horse loving family and she strives to continue to bring a family feel to her training and students today.

Following her junior career, Lisa attended Ferrum College and competed on the IHSA team. She was named MVP of all of the athletes at Ferrum College two years in a row. She competed each of her college years in Regionals and Zones. Lisa also competed in two National IHSA Finals and was named Reserve Champion in her division.

Lisa then moved to North Carolina and has called Raleigh home for 19 years. During this time she has taught countless equestrians of all levels, from committed beginners to National Medal Finalists and top jumpers. In 2007, Lisa opened Great Strides LLC and has become a mainstay of Raleigh showing from the local to National level riding and showing.

Lisa was asked by the USEF on two occasions to  lead the USA CSIJ-b team of junior jumper riders in both Quito, Ecuador and Santiago, Chile. While in Santiago, Chile she coached the USA junior rider to an Individual Gold Medal.

She has also coached multiple major indoor finals in equitation and jumpers. In the pony arena, Lisa has coached numerous top ponies who were top 3 finishers at pony finals.

Lisa has developed and coached  a very competitive IEA team over the years and looks forward to sharing that with Oriana. Great Strides/Oriana IEA Team is a very successful group of equestrians with a winning record and the most Team Wins of any team in our IEA Region last year. Lisa enjoys IEA and coaching a team of like minded riders in a team format.

Lisa and her family have  happily called Raleigh their home for two decades. She is excited to join Oriana!
